Creative Statement
As an emerging artist later in life, Judith’s work bridges traditional practices with contemporary aesthetics, exploring themes of aging, otherness, growth, and decay. She forages urban and natural environments to collect plants, minerals, fungi, and found objects to create art. Through explorative and experimental processes, her work seeks harmony between intention and the unexpected.
As an art educator, Judith values open-ended, experiential learning opportunities that foster curiosity and deepen feelings of connection. She facilitates activities such as walking and foraging, creating 'paintbrushes' from natural materials for experimental mark-making, and making natural inks and pigments. Through these experiences, Judith encourages intuitive thinking and critical reflection.
